COVID- Who?

God made the earth and put man to rule over it and everything therein. But today, with the sudden rise and alarming spread of the Corona Virus, it appears to me that we have all run in the corner in such fear and trembling, and handed over all our authority to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Like a soldier whose mandate is to protect his kingdom, even when an evil alien tries to attack, he puts on his full armor_ afraid or not_ and approaches the battle field with confidence.

As children of God we obviously ought to take our precautions like everybody else: wash our hands, keep safe, wear our face masks, among others, but we need not 'run away' in fear and trembling,  we need not let our hearts get overly worried and anxious; for while we take the precautions, we ought to face this virus with confidence.

This is our world, and our very first assignment is to rule over it (Genesis 1:28), including protecting it, which we can totally do both physically and spiritually.

With confidence we join the experts in the precautionary measures to ensure the virus doesn't spread further, yet spiritually, still with confidence we bind it, break it, declare it gone. We kill it, in Jesus' name.

 "Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. "Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven."
-Matthew 18:18-19

As children of God, the spiritual is our area of most influence. Most of us may not have governance or doctorate authority but we sure hold some of the highest ranks in the spiritual realm.

Remember: everything that happens in the physical has a spirit behind it (Holy or an evil spirit). I strongly believe that Covid-19 has an evil spirit behind it, but since we have been given some of the highest ranks in the Spiritual, there is so much influence we have over Covid-19.

"And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting."
-Mark 9:29

Instead of going into hiding in fear, let us go into our homes in faith, with confidence and believe, pray and fast for a quick and permanent end to this plague.

While others are using their mouths to praise the virus and say all scary things about it, you, child of God, ought to use your mouth to speak God's word.

Speak like a ruler over the earth, like a king over his kingdom,  go ahead and declare that:

"This plague is coming to an end soon in Jesus' name.

Thousands Shall fall on my right, ten thousands on my left, it shall not come near me. I speak healing over the countries of the world!"

This is not some other Christian thing denying facts in disguise of faith. A king whose kingdom is under attack, will rarely start informing his subordinates how terrible the situation is, how they are all going to die, etc. However, he usually will acknowledge the facts and then look at his strengths and possibilities. It is even common for kings to take the only possible alternative even when the possibilities of it working seem unreasonable.

Now as a Christian, focusing your energy on speaking the word of God against this current plague is not ignoring facts, it is knowing facts and then putting your faith in God's word as opposed to knowing the facts, yelling the facts, and raising fear in everyone's hearts.

Remember when Moses sent 12 spies to survey the Canaan land that God had promised the children of Israel (Numbers chapter 13 to chapter 14)? Most of the spies came back with a report that was filled with facts about how the land was all very good but the inhabitants thereof were so tall and huge that the children of Israel would, according to the spies, look like mere grasshoppers to them. Despite that kind of factual evidence presented by the other many spies in their report, Caleb and Joshua did exactly what I am trying to point out here:

'and they said to the entire Israelite assembly, "The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good. If the LORD is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us."' 
-Numbers 14:7-8

They acknowledged the facts, but put their focus on the positive, on speaking the promised word of God. They didn't join the rest of the team in spreading fear among the God's people.

"these men who were responsible for spreading the bad report about the land were struck down and died of a plague before the LORD. Of the men who went to explore the land, only Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh survived."
-Numbers 14:37-38

You, my fellow Christian, might not have the liberty of spreading fear through your words, your posts, statues or shares, but you can speak hope and faith in the hearts of others.

As you see from the image above, recoveries from this pandemic are shooting way more than deaths. But due to the fear we have helped spread, people are so afraid of the virus that in case they get infected, they have but very little faith to believe for their recovery (so they most likely end up dying  of fear, long before the virus can even kill them), yet the rates show that the possibility of recovery is actually high. God is not happy if we spread facts without following them up with his word, his love, his plan and his hope.

Remember: 
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
-2 Timothy 1:7 

Fear is an evil spirit, it is not of God (of course there is a holy type of fear, reverence, which fear is the beginning of wisdom, but this terrified feeling of hopelessness and misery is very evil). and COVID- 19 came along with this friend of his.

I wouldn't want myself or anyone to be infected with the virus, but still I am not afraid; I don't sanitize in fear, I sanitize in faith, I stand in prayer like one with an upper hand not like a slave praying to be delivered from his oppressing master. I pray like a child of the Most High King facing a challenge.

This blog article is a call to prayer. 

Since when did the world last come together as one to the Father with a common pain? Now is that time, so please be a part of these prayers of repentance and restoration.

The God who healed lepers, sent food from heaven, parted the Red Sea, is surely still ready to blow away this virus from the earth like it never existed. The challenge is that He has put a lot of power in prayer, so we need you to join into the chain of prayers for our country, for our sisters and brothers in Italy, China and the rest of the world.

You have more healing impact than you can realize.
