Most of us don't pay attention to this area of our lives!

Image Source A while ago, I used to struggle teaching the kids around me to treat each other better than they often did. You know how you could tell a stubborn 4-year old child, "I'll slap you!" and then, weird as it sounds, you eventually hear him/her telling his/her younger sibling exactly the same thing, in the same way. When you often address her mother (just because she's your buddy) as, "You babe...", it's weird when the 2-year old calls her mother by the same 'title'! At the end of my struggle, I realized the only solution would be for me to do what I wanted them to do, as well as treat them like I would want them to treat each other. No matter how many times I corrected  them verbally, they only seemed to do what they saw me do. Have you realized that you may unconsciously adopt your friends' funny behaviors? For example, laughing out loudly, or laughing quietly, using a given term, disliking or liking similar things, and stuff like t

Why God's things may seem not to work

Photo got from here   As a teenager, I was fond  of concocting all kinds of things. I loved a good skincare or hair DIY (Yes, I mean do-It-yourself, you know those things?). This particular one was to be made of the usual home kitchen ingredients (though I don't really remember which specific ones exactly)  and was to be kept, well covered for two weeks. Almost every day I held the bottle containing my mixture, excitedly fantasizing about the end result, and how amazing the outcome would be. I don't clearly remember if this was a skincare or a hair DIY,  but all I remember is that on day 15, I was seated in the sitting room at home with my mum and sisters when I exultantly started to open the bottle. The next thing I heard was a loud, bullet-like bang as the bottle top flew off to the roof while all my sisters fled the room. I can't forget the disappointed look that my mother gave me as she said in the middle of a heavy sigh, "You almost killed me! If I had a heart pro

The best relationship advice I've ever received!

Photo The best relationship  advice I have ever received  is: When we say our wedding vows, we say them to our partner before God. We joyfully pledge to love our partner, and when we do so before God, He becomes the " pledge-collector ", expecting us to make our daily deposits without basing on how good or bad our partner is on whatever day. Allow me to back that up with this fact: When your partner cheats on you and you also decide to cheat on them in revenge, when you go to heaven you can't say, "You see God, I only cheated on my wife because she cheated on me first!" No, my friend. In that case, when adulterers and the sexually immoral are to be sent to hell, you might as well be one of them if you don't repent. This tells me that our debt to love and be faithful  to our partner is not collected by our partner but by God. Let's say you beat your spouse so badly and your spouse forgives you, your debt might not be cancelled unless you personally repen

Could your dream have more to it?

Image "Uh, it was just a dream!" A lot of times, most of us have often said this statement in relief upon waking up after having a horrible dream, or even a really good one. There is this amazing story of someone who might have said the same after having a dream, am almost more than sure you have heard of his story before, the story of the wise King Solomon. God asked King Solomon in the book of first Kings chapter 3, to ask for anything he wanted and he asked for wisdom, which pleased God that king Solomon had asked for wisdom instead of riches or fame, so God decided to make him the wisest man ever and added him wealth and fame too. The interesting thing is that this entire conversation and blessing took place in a dream: 1 Kings 3:5  That night the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream , and God said, "What do you want? Ask, and I will give it to you!" 1 Kings 3:15  Then Solomon woke up and realized it had been a dream... Yes, the famous wise King Solomon receiv
