Why the Festive excitement?
Why the too much festive excitement?
Of course there is nothing wrong with the excitement that is why it is called a Merry Christmas the merry means it's a joyous occasion.
However we so often forget the Christ part. Just imagine your mother or friends buying themselves gifts and cakes on your birthday!
We all go through so much during this time of the year. Trying to celebrate Christ's birthday.
People shopping, getting angry at each other, trying to bear with "crazy" family members, buying foods and gifts at almost twice the price they were one month back and spreading some love.
Sometimes this gets too much and reveals the ungodliness in most of us; when things don't go the way we had planned, when Bea/Spouse doesn't send the perfect Christmas gift, when the market gets crazy, or you don't get that perfect dress.
Many things have a tendency of going wrong during this season however we should never let all this merry make us forget the Christ born in us.
we shouldn't loose focus of the reason for the season.
How would Jesus want us to celebrate his birthday? What is Christmas to you?
How better can you make your Christmas?
Christ clearly told us, when we feed the hungry, we have fed him, when we visit the seek, we have visited him. How about we try not to concentrate on buying ourselves gifts and cakes on Jesus' birthday and sometimes forgetting to invite the birthday boy himself.
I believe this is the season to forget yourself and focus on others, to give, to love and fully reveal the Christ in us.
Looking forward to some new Christmas traditions.
Wishing you a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
Thanks for the insight
